Athletics Updates

Best of Luck to the Flag football team who has competed in 4 games thus far, boys are off to a good start with some competitive games.

Track and Field:  Practices have been going strong for over a month thanks to Mr. Paton and Mr. Chaisson.  All athletes who have been attending practices will be ranked and thus our best athletes put forward for the upcoming meets:

May 23rd– Regional East Meet Qualifier @ UPEI. Bus is leaving at 8:30 (grades 10-12)

May 26th– Zone 4 Meet @ UPEI.  Bus is also leaving directly after 1st bell.

May 22nd– Triathlon– Best of luck to Richelle Carpenter and Sarah MacDonald.

May 23rd– Come try Softball for ages 8-14 in the gym at 6:00 as well as minor ball registration.

June 2/3 Provincials for Track and Field

June 14th– Flag Football Provincials

Senior Softball Update:  The athletic department is discouraged that the softball season simply could not pan out.  The first sets of games were all cancelled due to other priorities or rained out and we were in the predicament of constantly having athletes and coaches not knowing what was happening on a day to day basis.  Rescheduling of games 3 or 4 times and being forced to shove the season into 9 school days with no time for practice was unfair.  For those reasons we decided to opt out.  We would love to see ball players start baseball which begins on May 18th so that they will be properly organized for the fall league.

Other events happening at the school:  lacrosse on the field, tackle football in the gym, community badminton, volleyball (spring league just finished up, Congrats to the teams who performed well), footsol and spring soccer registration is still happening.
